Lethl-ace Universal Concealed Carry Holster {Review}

When looking for holsters, my husband and I wanted something versatile. As a homeschooling mom, my wardrobe is all over the place. Some days it's just jeans and a tee shirt, in this case I would want a waist holster. While we are actually "doing school", I like to be a bit more comfortable in a maxi skirt or dress. In this case I would choose a thigh or ankle holster. I also wear dresses at times so a bra or under the arm holster might be more practical. Basically, it came down to making this one decision- was I going to completely revamp my wardrobe to fit one holster style or was I going to get a holster that I could wear on any given day, regardless of my outfit. The answer?

 Lethal-lace provides two types of holsters, a one-size-fits-all women's lace holster available in a variety of colors and a men's non-lace holster. I'll share my experience with the women's holster first.

Am I printing? That is the most important question. When you look at the picture above can you see where I am carrying my weapon? Okay, I'll tell you. When that particular picture was taken, I am carrying on the left (my right,) on my thigh. I was impressed with how well this holster actually does conceal my weapon.

The holster itself is beautiful. I have the nude color but it also comes in blue, pink and black. Putting it on is basically the same concept as a baby wrap. With my son, I sometimes carry him in a wrap which is basically a long piece of fabric that I wrap around my body and to keep my baby snug. He has never fallen out and I have had no issues. It's the same with this holster. You first place your weapon in the provided pocket and then tightly wrap around your body in the location that you want it. There are clips on each end to help keep it in place. As with the baby wrap, I have not had any problems. As long as I apply my holster tightly, it will not slide down or come loose.

I appreciate the extra padding in the pocket that goes between your weapon and your body. It makes the whole experience a little more pleasant. Overall I am highly impressed and pleased with this option for women. Below is a picture of what the holster looks like on, over my clothes for demonstration purposes only.

My husband was looking forward to trying out this holster, (obviously the no-lace version of it!) Overall, he likes the versatility of this holster. He still prefers his normal, everyday holster that he uses but he likes to have this one on hand for those times when he needs to carry in a different location. He likes the fact that this holster keeps his gun cleaner than other holsters when working in a dusty environment.

He doesn't have to worry about cleaning his weapon out every night when using this holster. Unfortunately, It doesn't seem to work for him well when he has to be moving around often because, for him, it tends to shift. Even so, it's a good holster to have around!

If you are looking for a universal holster and you want to do it in style, then order your Lethal-ace Holster today. And, go ahead and get a men's version for your husband while you are at it!

Luv Michael Granola {Review}

Luv Michael is a unique company created in the name of Michael, an 18 year old man with autism. This company provided an excellent employment opportunity that would work for him. Using natural ingredients, the Luv Michael company is from the heart. I received a bag of the Originola Granola that is not only gluten free, nut free, dairy free and not made with GMO's.

The pieces come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Some pieces are so large you think you just brought a bag of granola bars while other chunks are bite sized. The burst of flavor is amazing! Each bite certainly packs a punch of fruity tastiness. You certainly will not be disappointed with the flavor and when you get to the end of the bag you will be wanting more! Be sure to check out the Luv Michael site to order now!

Me: A Compendium {Review}

Me: A Compendium is an adorable journal for kids to share their thoughts, experiences, hopes and dreams. This journal is so much more entertaining than I had anticipated. I had ordered this book in hopes to give to my eight year old son to work on his writing skills but upon receiving it I found it would work better for my six year old. Although I am confident that my eight year old would enjoy this fun-filled journal, it seems to fit my six year old daughter's personality so much more.

I thought that this book would simply include pages with story starter ideas with maybe some images but it is so much more than that! With large animated drawings of spaceships, children are encouraged to let their imaginations run wild as they write (or draw) about what they would see in space. The large, colorful pages allow for children to explore who they are and who they hope to be. I love the pages where they draw a picture of themselves as a baby, themselves now and as an older person. It certainly gets them thinking. Adorable. This would make a great gift or homeschool supplement for children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade.

Probiotics for Acne and Digestive Regularity {Nexabiotic Review}

Nexabiotic is a powerful probiotic formulated with 23 probiotics that help develop a healthy gut, which is key to your overall health.

Our bodies should have a healthy, normal, balance of probiotics naturally but, because of the food we eat, our bodies are simply out of wack. Not only is this because much of the food presented to us is void of nutrition but also because of the antibiotics that are pumped into them. Personally, I am not a fan of antibiotics and rarely use them on my own accord.

Unfortunately, during my last pregnancy, I had several issues that led me to the decision to finally cave in and go on antibiotics. Big mistake. My body has been completely messed up this past year and I believe that the few weeks of antibiotics had a large role to play in all of this.

The problem with antibiotics is, that it not only kills the bad bacteria in your body but the good as well. If all the good bacteria is killed off then not only is the target area affected but your whole body can be affected too. Over the past year I tried three different types of probiotics in hopes that things would get back to normal and Nexabiotic has balanced things out the most of these three. The main issues I was having were UTI's and yeast infections. It was a constant, continuous issue since the day my baby was born. Ten months and piles of probiotics later, no hope. Thankfully, the strands found in these probiotics is exactly what my body needed and I have seen a significant change and these issues are no longer plaguing me!

Another benefit that I have noticed in using these probiotics is the increased energy that I have. I do not consume caffeine and am fine without it but when I take these probiotics I feel as though I just had an entire pot of coffee. I wake up wide eyed and ready to face the day. My house has never been cleaner. Seriously, I have so much more energy in the mornings. The only negative effect that I have seen is that I do get the same crash that I used to get midday when I was on caffeine. When I am not on the probiotics I don't need a nap midday but when I am on them, I have noticed that I am exhausted in the afternoons. Hopefully this will even out in time because these are the best probiotics that I have tried. Honestly, the benefits outweigh any of the negative effects any day. It is recommended that you take the probiotics twice a day. I started off slow with once and have gradually added in my second dosage. When I first started it I noticed some headaches but from experience with other probiotics I knew this was normal. After a few days the headaches stopped and I began noticing increased energy.

Nexabiotic also provides capsules for infants and toddlers. These capsules are extremely easy to use. You simply twist open the capsule and pour into your child's bottle or mix in with their food. My baby didn't seem to know that I was sneaking the probiotics into his bottle. It didn't compromise the taste or flavor at all because he would finish his bottle without any complaint. It is suggested to give it to them once a day.

In addition to the adult and infant capsules, I also had my children try the kid's capsules. Fortunately these are chewable since my kids have a hard time swallowing capsules. They are small, flavorful and easy to get down. My daughter loves the flavor and always wants to have more than one a day. To her it's like candy. My oldest son was not a fan but he hates anything medicine or vitamin related anyways. But, it's not to the point where he'll refuse to take them, he just makes sure to let me know he is not enjoying it. My middle son is pretty nonchalant about it. If I ask him to take it, he'll comply.

Overall, I am pleased with the results of Nexabiotic and plan on purchasing more of this specific probiotic when my bottle runs out, which is saying a lot because I didn't do that with the other ones that I have tried!

BIC® XTRA-Fun #2 Pencils with Stripes {Review}

Who knew #2 pencils could be so fun? Apparently Bic did. They knew because they delivered. Bic has created XTRA-Fun #2 pencils with stripes that have lit up my kids faces. When my kids saw pencils in their favorite colors you would have thought it was Christmas morning. Seriously. There is just something about new school supplies, especially in the homeschooling realm since we don't stock up in the fall as traditional schools do.

When we received these in the mail they were super excited. Immediately I laid down the rules. No biting off erasers, keep them in a place you will remember and no "borrowing" from each other. Am I a strict mom, or what? Ha, ha. You kind of have to be with elementary aged students though, especially with pencils. If not then the kids end up losing them and handing in papers completed in pen, marker, crayon, lipstick, etc.

I love that these packs come in a variety of colors. This way, each kid knows exactly which pencil is theirs and there is no confusion or arguing over whose pencil is whose. Not that my kids have ever argued over something as petty as pencils before, (shaking head in shame.)

We've been using these pencils for a few weeks now and the kids are still huge fans. They love the colors and they love the elasticity. Even though they are wooden pencils, they somehow bend. Seriously, they don't break, at least not easily and my kids love this!
I personally love the colors, design and how they feel in your hand when you use them. These fun pencils are sure to be a hit with kids everywhere! Pick up a pack for your kids today!

Modern Potluck {Review}

Kristin Donnelly has outdone herself with the entertaining cookbook, Modern Potluck. From the front cover until I turned over the last page, I was impressed with the variety and quality of the recipes provided. Pleasing a crowd has never been easier with appetizers to share to 9 x 13 casserole dishes to devour.

I certainly have my go-to dishes that I will bring to a potluck and I am embarrassed to admit that they are not of the most healthy variety. I usually go with a boring dish such as baked mac and cheese. I might spice it up a little and make buffalo chicken dip but again, it is certainly not the healthiest dish out there.

This cookbook provides healthy and tasty recipes that I look forward to trying. She has divided the book up into the following categories:
  • Snacks, Dips and Drinks
  • Main Course Salads and Other Room Temperature Dishes
  • Slow Cooked and Served Hot
  • The 9 x 13 inch Pan: Casseroles and Like
  • Supporting Role Salads and Sides
  • Baked and Savory
  • Sweets
  • Condiments and Other Things In Jars
I appreciated the pictures in the book and my only complaint is that I wish there were more! It is always inspiring to see the finished product. Some of the recipes I look forward to preparing are the Chinese Chicken Salad, Grilled Corn Salad and Phoebe's Moroccan-Inspired Shepherd's Pie! I highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to branch out into the more healthier options for potluck goodies!

The Back To {Home} School Supply List

If you live in one of the 12 states holding tax-free days this weekend soon then now is the time to hit the stores and get some amazing deals on school supplies and clothing. Some states also provide deals on computers and shoes. If you aren't one for crowds, you have plenty of online options for ordering what you need and have it delivered right to your door. You purchase curriculum online so why not get your supplies online too? Rainbow Resource Center has a wide variety of materials for both student and teacher. If you order $50 or more then you are qualified for free shipping.

FOR THEM

Collect a stylish notebook for each subject. Your child will love picking out the designs and look forward to using them throughout the homeschool year!

Let their creativity run wild. As you study weather patterns, animals or botany, children of all ages can document what they have learned in a way they can relate to and refer to for years to come.

Forget the basic yellow #2, break out some pencils with a bit of color. Have several kids in your home? Assign them each their own color to make the day run smoother.

Do you have a pencil biter? Even if you don't pencil top erasers are a life saver for when those goofy erasers pop off the ends of the pencils. These pencil caps help your child continue on in their work with ease and without frustration. And you don't have to correct papers filled with scribbles and crossed out words!

Get each one of your children one of these. My kids love knowing what is expected of them each day and feel a sense of accomplishment when they can check off subjects as they complete them.

Stock up on arts and craft supplies that are age appropriate. Glue and crayons for young ones, clay and colored pencils for the older ones. I like to have a variety of items on hand, just in case!

Even if you utilize notebooks in your classroom, loose leaf paper is still handy for writing rough drafts in English or figuring out math problems.

I use these for saving tests, quizzes and important papers. Kids love the variety of colors and can be used for all sorts of school related activities.

Keeping each child's individual writing utensils in one spot is paramount. Pencil cases are an easy way to help your kids stay organized.

FOR YOU

If you use these in your home then you are nodding your head right now. This is probably the most annoying thing to run out of so stock up now!

This is a no brainer. If you love organization, then you love bins.

This is another tool that I cannot live without. I could have a million pencils in my home but without a quick and easy solution for sharpening, forget it. I am done with the handheld variety. This is quick, easy and efficient!

Red pens are too old school for me. I prefer to have a good amount of colorful pens to grade my children's work. It puts me in a good mood and brightens up their day too!

Last but not least, a quality planner for you is key. Sit back, relax and schedule your schooling in a way that will work for you!

The Pediatrician's Guide To Feeding Babies and Toddlers {Review}

You won't need to wonder which foods are okay to feed you little one when he starts solids. The Pediatrician's Guide To Feeding Babies and Toddlers  provides practical answers to your questions on nutrition, starting solids, allergies, picky eating and more.

You would think that feeding my baby solids would be a breeze. I mean, this is my forth time around. But when my son broke out into hives recently, I decided to go back to the drawing board. None of my kids ever had hives and even though I know that it is a common occurrence in this stage of life, I wanted to make sure I was feeding my little one the right things. I began to eliminate certain ingredients from his diet and it quickly cleared up and hasn't returned. I was excited to refresh my memory with this book as to what kids can eat at different stages in their development. Some information I already knew such as not feeding your child honey before their first birthday. But there were issues addressed that weren't even on the scene when my older kids were this age. For example, those food pouches that are all the rage that you can pick up practically everywhere for your little one. This book discourages the use of those even though they might be convenient since they are devoid of proper nutrition.

This book is separated into age groups so you can quickly thumb through to the age of your child and see which foods are best for them at that stage. The book is easy to navigate with plenty of recipes, real life tips, and questions and answers. This book is a useful resource for new and seasoned parents alike. I highly recommend it!
